Chicago Winter Engagement Photos
As most of you know, this has been one very interesting winter in Chicago. The people of Chicago went through some extreme weather changes. Some were good like the white fluffy snow that led to really killer photos especially for engagement sessions. Some of the weather changes were extremely brutal and made us think twice why we are living in Chicago like the below freezing temperatures and school closings due to deadly winds. This is not a rant on the Chicago weather, we promise. This is simply us thanking Mother Nature for giving us a beautiful winter day for Ingrid and Peter to have unique Chicago winter engagement photos both in-and-outdoors.
Downtown Chicago is very cool in the crisp winter time, especially when the sun comes out and there is a clear view of the awesome city skyline. We started the day with Ingrid and Peter at Millennium Park and moved our way to the public ice skating rink. Mind you that because it was a beautiful sunny day, the Chicagoans braved to step outdoors for some activities. It was a very cool and different experience to photograph Ingrid and Peter doing something they love while being in a very crowded place. They are both so in love and their interaction makes them really stand out from the crowd. We later moved to the Cultural Art Center to warm up. Again, this was a winning move because we had this massive wondrous piece of architecture all to ourselves.
While spending time with Ingrid and Peter, we got to learn a lot of interesting goodies that we must share with the world:
1. Time flies fast when you are in love. Ingrid and Peter met through mutual friends about 4 years ago and had been dating for 3 years. They both have a strong love of the Blackhawks and their first date was a Blackhawks game. They are probably watching the Blackhawks game as we are writing this blog post :)
2. Tying shoe laces leads to proposals. They got engaged after having Valentine's day dinner at Pelago. After dinner they took a small walk before getting drinks at Drumbar. On the walk Peter asked Ingrid to marry him by announcing he needed to tie his shoe (LOL) and of course once he asked after tying his shoes- she said yes! They then headed to Drumbar where their closest friends were waiting with drinks!
3. If you want to get in their good graces, buy them separate portable microphones. Ingrid and Peter like to explore new restaurants, take walks (even in the winters), sporting events (Blachawks, Cubs, Bears), Ft. Myers Beach, live music and love to karaoke, they fight over the microphone sometimes (hahahaha) and love to drink coffee at local coffee shops and people watch.
4. They are helpless romantics. They chose SAIC BALLROOM as their wedding venue because it embodied a lot of what Chicago makes us think of which is live music, dancing, great gatsby, architecture, color, prohibition, the venue was built in 1908. It's so romantic to think about other people that were in love 100+ years ago and they shared a kiss and a dance there as well.
Now that you have a good background on Ingrid and Peter, please enjoy and indulge in the engagement session photographed by Marcin and Magdalena.
