just wanted to share the slideshow a small wedding of Priscilla & Daniel I had a pleasure to photograph. The preparation and ceremony was in a chapel on Northwestern Campus in Evanston right by the Shakespeare Garden. After the ceremony we took few photos around Northwestern and then we drove downtown for few more photos. This is was a intimate wedding as Priscilla & Daniel will have their true wedding reception in Michigan where their families live.
Priscilla & Daniel describe themselves as classic/traditional - with a twist :) They LOVE the outdoors. They actually lived in Colorado...

So we just found out that our flight back to Chicago got cancelled and we won’t be flying back till tomorrow. We have a “wonderful” night to spent at the Las Vegas airport. I thought I would take the time to write a post about Sasha’s and mine experience at WPPI 2012. So let’s start from the beginning… For those of you that don’t know what WPPI is, it is the biggest wedding and portrait photography organization. It stands for Wedding and Portrait Professionals International. I have been a member of WPPI for over a year and this was the first WPPI conference that I attended. The event...

Being a Chicago Wedding Photographer is so a great opportunity to meet so many wonderful people! Lakisha and Alexander are definitely one of them:) Alex and Kisha met in Florida where both studied at the Florida A&M University. I think they made such a strong impression on each other because they both remember really well in which class they met for the first time and even who the professor was. It was an economics class and the professor was Dr Wilson. Actually, I forgot to ask Kisha and Alex whether Dr Wilson was invited to the wedding:) Well, after meeting at the economics class Kisha and Alex...

I just wanted to share some exciting news that I got few weeks ago that some of my photos got published in the WeddingWire blog. Those photos were taken in Vivo restaurant in Chicago. Vivo is one of my favorite place for Italian food. They also have "above vault" table that has been voted one of the most romantic places for dinner in Chicago. So if you thought of a nice place for a date dinner this is definitely the place:)

I spent the last couple of weeks watching a 3-day wedding posing workshop with Bambi Cantrell. I purchased the workshop through CreativeLive. CreativeLive is an amazing concept created by Chase Jarvis where workshops with famous photographers are broadcasted and recorded. Watching the workshop live is free! Since I couldn't spend the whole three days watching it live, I bought downloaded recorded videos
Bambi is a world famous, received some of the most prestigious awards, and above all she just explodes with energy. She definitely is a master of posing people whether it's a photo of one person...

For those that know me personally, you know that I am often artistically chaotic or in other words disordered:) But I am aware of it so I continuously try to fight it. One way to get more organized is to have a wedding photographer checklist before photographing a wedding. I am always paranoid that I will forget something so ended up putting together a checklist for myself so I knew I didn't forget anything. Since many of us should use it as well but we are too busy to create one I thought I would share mine with everybody. So here it is. Feel free to share it with others, forward the link etc.

I found this interesting list of current wedding photography trends. It's always interesting to see how wedding photography is categorized. I think my style is closest to Fine Art Photography though I definitely include a lot of photojournalism in my style.

Few days ago I had a pleasure to photograph a very interesting Serbian wedding of Jelena and Nikola. This was my first Serbian wedding so it was fantastic to find out more about all the Serbian traditions. The first thing that was different from all the other weddings I photographed was the big pre-wedding party at Jelena's parents. It was practically a wedding reception before the actual wedding:) Ahh, and all the good food served non-stop. But before the pre-party began the bride's family tried to trick the groom and presented him another woman slightly disguised. Of course he realized it was not his wife-to-be...
