When walking Budapest I had to of course check out the Budapest Basilica. This beautiful church is breath taking and it's size makes one awe the moment one walks in. As most old churches the Basilica in Budapest is pretty sombre which makes it even prettier. What makes look good in real life is not always the easiest to photograph. Since I tried to travel light I didn't bother to bring a tripod with me (note to myself: buy a super light carbon fiber tripod). To get any decent exposure with adequate depth of field in this church I had to raise the ISO on my Canon 5D Mark II to its highest value:...

Christmas in Paris with unusual winter-holiday weather

I've lived in Chicago for 18 years now, but unfortunately none of my closest family lives in the States. For the most part this is not a nice situation to be in. However, there is one big Pro.... spending Christmas with my family in Europe. As they are spread across France, Belgium, and Poland every year we decide to celebrate Christmas somewhere else. This year we're spending Christmas in Paris with my sister's family house.
