Why wedding hair and makeup is important – guest post by Diem Angie
We are super excited to share a guest blog post by Diem Angie. Diem is one of top Chicago wedding makeup and hair stylists. Diem will tell us a bit more why it's so important to find the right wedding hair and makeup professional. Diem has been in the beauty industry for over 5 years so she has plenty of experience to share with us.
I am often asked: "Should I hire a professional makeup artist for my wedding?" As a professional makeup artist, my answer is obviously biased!
You may know plenty of tricks and tips to apply your makeup for everyday wear, but you will find that hiring a pro makeup artist is a critical part of your wedding!
A Professional Makeup Artist understands how many different factors can affect your look. For example, makeup for photography is entirely different from everyday makeup.
If you are open to change, a professional makeup artist may show you a variety of ideas that will enhance your features. They may also perfect upon your look making you more flawless and camera ready.
If you are worried about looking "too made-up?" I highly recommend that you interview several make-up artists and absolutely schedule a trial. Most makeup artists do charge for a trial as they need to schedule time on their appointment book. In my opinion, this is money well spent. During the trial, you will be able to try different looks to see what you look like! Often times, what you thought you wanted might not be what you like or what looks best on you in the end.
Ultimately, you should do your own research and read lots of reviews online from previous brides. Call and speak directly to at least 2 or 3 artists in advance to get a good feel for who you get along with best (and NEVER hire anyone that doesn’t respond by the next day). A great professional artist should immediately inspire confidence and trust.
