WPPI 2016 – WASIO Photography Trip
The WASIO team has been going to WPPI for a few years now but WPPI 2016 was extra special because Marcin documented some of our time spent there. Spending almost a week in Vegas is a bit crazy but every year the experience turns out amazing. There is something to take away from every class and transform it into something your business will benefit from. Meeting people and building new connections always gets us excited. The very first year we attended WPPI we met the "Peralta" sisters and we've been good friends ever since. We met up every year and sometimes we visit them in New York.
We took some more advanced classes this year. Magda took an awesome class with Ewan & Brianna Phelan that covered boudoir and she also had a class with Rocco Ancora that covered wedding day and portrait photography. Marcin took a class with Lindsay Adler about studio lighting and he also took a class with Bambi Cantrell that covered album design. Yaneck took a Photoshop class with Keda.Z, he also took a class with Jeremy form Jeza and David Backstead that covered print competitions. I (Sasha) took a class with Kelly Brown that went over the details of photographing a newborn session. After our trip we had a team meeting and shared all of our notes from the classes we took.
So, one of our evenings in Las Vegas, Yaneck convinced us to walk from MGM to the old Vegas strip. The motivation behind this walk was to discover the flashy 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign and take a team photo there. Just so you know, the sign is actually by MGM. We were walking on the strip, taking advantage of being able to drink alcohol on the strip…three hours later we were almost there! What stopped us? Marcin was super hungry and when Marcin gets hungry you want to make him as happy as possible as fast as possible. In our sight was a hole in the wall looking diner. We didn't care and went in. The place turned out to have amazing food. After we ate, we realized we had to make it back in time for one of the shows. We ended up getting a taxi and never officially made it to the old Las Vegas strip.
Check out some photos from our adventures there. If you have any questions about any of the classes we took, please contact us here.
