Arkansas Hiking – Hot Springs
Hiking in Hot Springs was a thrill. I have never seen anything like it before. It was 36 degrees outside, the plants were all frozen and we got to see natural hot springs coming up from the ground. Anyways, you stay cold for 5 minutes and then when the hike begins up hill you begin stripping down the layers of clothes. There are some fantastic parks in Hot Springs Arkansas, that have unbelievable views and hidden water falls. There were also a lot of creeks to cross, some were more challenging than others. After a long day of hiking, it is nice to enjoy a natural hot bath. There is a whole row of hot baths to choose from. Arlington Hotel is one of the major landmarks there. Also, this used to be a popular destination for gangsters like Al Capone to come down for a weekend getaway. Hot Springs is also the hometown of former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
There are some lakes around and it gets pretty busy in the summer. If you want a nice, relaxing weekend getaway, Hot Springs, Arkansas is not a bad choice. You can enjoy a day of hiking with beautiful scenery or stay in and pamper yourself in one of the famous bathhouses.
