Photography means different things to different people. Some say that it is a form of artistic expression and creativity that allows them to share their personal view of the world. For others, it is a way of capturing the present moment and preserving memories. To us, photography is a unique way of telling a story. We are thrilled and honored to work with couples and have the opportunity to get to know their own incredible love stories.
Today we are excited to share a love story of Lucy and John that we captured last November. The session took place in the late afternoon and evening in the Chicago Loop. We picked that location based on Lucy and John’s passion for the city’s architecture. As we mentioned in other posts, Chicago offers countless opportunities for architecture lovers and has a plethora of iconic architectural gems that provide a stunning background for engagement and wedding pictures. Evening lights in the city create wonderful ambiance and add even more splendor and majesty to the pictures. We combined Lucy and John’s romance with something that they both love and feel passionate about- the architectural design. Despite low temperatures, Lucy and John braved through the cold like real champions.
A location of the photo shoot can speak volumes about the couple and who they are. A lot of times engagement sessions are a time traveling experience that take us through couple’s special places and precious moments in life. We encourage couples to choose locations that have sentimental value to them as they contribute to the storytelling power of photography. Locations can also reflect couple’s interests and passions and ultimately tell us a lot about them as people.
Engagement sessions are typically more flexible when it comes to locations comparing to a formal wedding session. We always welcome our clients’ suggestions and ideas when it comes to the location of the photo shoot and are willing to travel outside of Chicago to help our clients tell their love story.
Lucy and John plan on getting married in September in Hoffman Estates. We are certain that it will be a beautiful ceremony with guests coming from US and Europe. We wish them luck in their preparation endeavors and look forward to their wedding.
