What can I say I love January because mid-month is my birthday:) This year I decided to go a little bit crazy and ordered my own birthday cake. Few months ago I photographed an amazing cake at 2239 South Michigan Lounge. The cake was in the shape of a Martini Glass with the birthday girl sitting in it. Here is a photo of that cake. I was so impressed with the creation of Tipsy Cake Chicago that this year I decided to be a little bit more creative with my birthday and ordered a cake in the shape of my camera.
When I called Tipsy Cake Chicago I quickly realized how serious they were about their cakes. When they heard I wanted a cake in the shape of a camera, they asked me right away: "do you want a medium format, digital, film, SLR, etc."! I had to also specify the brand and the model of the camera-cake I wanted. To be honest I didn't really believe they would create a cake exactly like my camera, but when I picked it up today my jaw dropped to the floor. The cake looked so real! ok, slightly bigger because I ordered the cake for 40 people but every detail of the camera was there. Every button, every screen, every label, even the lens was labeled properly, with the "red-ring" for the Canon L lens. Simply amazing!
You will be the judge. Few photos of the cake I took at home are below!
