Chicago Wedding Photographer – Fun facts about WASIO
Here is a slightly more relaxed and fun version page about Yaneck and Sasha – the two people behind WASIO photography – the Chicago wedding photographer.
From the day we met photography and sailing were the two main things that got us connected.
Yaneck started sailing 7 years ago. The whole idea about sailing came after spending a week on a Caribbean cruise with a stop at the British Virgin Islands. That place was so magical that right away I investigated what it would take to charter a boat there. Well, a sailing certification was needed. So right after the cruise I signed up for sailing classes and 3 years later I became officially certified:)
I met Sasha on my sailboat through a mutual friend. Right away we knew that we were interested in each other. So of course I asked Sasha out that same day:) During that week I had a 5-day super intensive workshop with one of the best, if not the best, wedding photographers in the world – Jerry Ghionnis, I knew our first date would have to be the following week. But I couldn't wait… So I asked Sasha to join me one evening for a happy-hour with my photographer friends from the workshop. Since it was not our first date, we officially call it our pre-first-date.
When we met, Sasha was not into photography at all. She is such a wonderful and sweet person though and really fast became fascinated by this Chicago wedding photographer :) Maybe my absolute wedding photography passion had something to do with it. Sasha is now officially known as the Sexy-Voice-Activate-Light-Stand and is my absolute help on wedding days. She is also the key person behind our constantly improving and evolving WASIO photography experience.
Well, many months later we are still totally in love and as Chicago wedding photographer we love seeing other people in love! When we don't work on our photography we love sailing and spend a lot of time on our sailboat on Lake Michigan during the sailing season. Our other passion is travel. We use every occasion to go somewhere. It can be as close as Indiana, Wisconsin, or Michigan or as far as Georgia, Washington, California or even Europe. We have a tradition that every Thanksgiving we pack our bags, put our dog Sparkle in the back of our car and go for a road trip. We usually chose locations where we can hike a lot and where there is an interesting city/spot full of history. We love discovering American history through various states (Oh yeah, I wikipedia every single place we go to to find out some interesting facts)!
