We are so honored to share an Indiana Hoosiers love story of Kelly and Matt. It all started with a house that had a bright red door and the start of college basketball season referred to as 'Midnight Madness'. Kelly was a sophomore and Matt had already graduated from IU. Matt took frequent trips from Chicago to Indiana to visit friends and of course support his Hoosiers pride! Kelly had noticed Matt right away and began doing her research. Everything fell into place perfectly. Matt and his old roommates threw a party that him and Kelly spent hours getting to know each other at. They had a lot in common and kept in touch after their life changing weekend of meeting each other during 'Midnight Madness'. There is no way to go on with Kelly and Matt's story without talking about Indiana University and Hoosier-ism The state of Indiana adopted "Hoosier State" in the 1830's…176 years before Kelly and Matt met. The nickname Hoosier, more than anything is a representation of pride that Indiana residents have. If you are lucky enough to be a "Hoosier", you're known for being hardworking, your hospitality, and your compassion. Hoosiers are die-hard basketball fanatics and there is no doubt about it that basketball is in their blood. All of the above is a perfect description of Kelly and Matt! The date was Saturday, October 29, 2011…A perfect time to be at Indiana University. It was homecoming weekend and a weekend Kelly and Matt would never forget because it was a weekend that was set in brick (you'll read why in a second). Kelly and Matt enjoyed a delicious breakfast and afterwards decided to go on a relaxing walk through the oldest part of the IU campus, the Sample Gates. They came across the Rose Well House (built in 1908) and decided to go in and take some pictures. As Kelly was preoccupied taking pictures of some gorgeous stained glass, Matt got down on one knee and proposed! She said yes and entering the Memorial Stadium that evening for the football game there was a brick paver with their name, the date of their engagement and where they got engaged! 363 days later on a beautiful fall day at the Hyatt Lodge at Mcdonald's Campus, Kelly and Matt were getting ready in separate rooms anxious for their first look with one another. As Kelly put on her dress she received a card from Matt that everyone was dying to read but she kept it confidential:) Along with the card she got a beautiful necklace. Matt also received a card from Kelly and along with the card came a nice fossil watch to complete his husbandly look. Matt was standing outside with his back turned away as Kelly quietly approached him. As soon as Matt heard Kelly's footsteps, he had the biggest smile on his face. Once he heard she got closer, he turned around and they shared a very passionate first kiss of the day. Kelly and Matt truly had a special day and you felt all of the love from family, friends and of course Indiana University. IU was a great part of their day. Besides Matt's cuff links and Kelly's garter having IU on it, they also had a second cake in the form of it (see below in photos). There was also bobble heads of themselves standing with their kitty holding footballs and standing on an IU court! As mentioned before, IU is a very special part of Kelly and Matt's day. Midnight Madness could be a cover up word for fate because it's what originally brought them together. We felt so lucky to be a part of their special day and witness all of the magic.
